About Amanda Keesmaat
Amanda Keesmaat is a leading Canadian baroque cellist, serving as principal cello of Arion Baroque Orchestra and performing regularly with ensembles such as SMAM, Clavecin en Concert, and Skye Consort, which she co-founded. She has toured with major period-instrument orchestras across Canada and frequently collaborates with La Nef, in addition to directing her own ensemble, Space Time Continuo.
A specialist of the basse de violon, she performs with Rendez-vous baroque français and has appeared with Opera Atelier in Toronto and Versailles. Her discography includes Juno Award–winning recordings with Ensemble Caprice and Arion, along with projects involving Infusion Baroque, Daniel Taylor, Les Voix Baroques, and others. She is an active chamber musician, invited to festivals and concert series throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe.
