Songs of the Italian, Ottoman and Persian renaissances are interwoven in an early 17th-century manuscript in which the author revels in shifting from one language to another and one music to another. With tenor Marco Beasley, Constantinople revisited the music of that period and recreated a bridge between European and Oriental cultures.
