ABOUT TERESITA DE JESUS ISLA
Teresita de Jesus Islas is a dancer, singer and instrumentalist of the jarana (a small Mexican guitar). She has been participating in the Jarocho music movement for nearly twenty years, both as an interpreter and composer, and has appeared on many stages in Mexico and abroad. Partner in life with Jose Angel Gutiérrez, she is also a member of Al golpe del guatime. Besides her involvement with the renewal of the Son Jarocho, Teresita de Jesus Islas is pursuing a career as a painter and poet.
